Our Honorary Chair for the 2016 Family Fest and Walk for Kidneys is Malik Rose, a forward for the San Antonio Spurs' NBA championship teams in 1999 and 2003. After losing a kidney at an early age, Rose is honored to help get the word out about the importance of kidney health, early screening and education. “Having one kidney myself, I know all too well the importance of early screening and proper kidney health. I am excited to be a spokesperson for the work the Texas Kidney Foundation is doing in the Spurs’ community and throughout South Texas.” Schedule permitting, Rose intends to be at the event to cheer walkers on.
